Carrie is a Recruitment manager for Lancashire Constabulary and Kiery is a Station Manager for Lancashire fire and rescue service. Although we are both part of the blue light family we met trough family/friends in 2019 pre pandemic. We didn’t have usual dates due to Covid but this didn’t stop our love blossoming. We realised if we could survive through a pandemic without dating then married life would be a breeze! Kiery proposed to Carrie whilst we were on a breakaway in 2021.
Wedding planning begun and it was Kiery’s mum who suggested Samlesbury Hall due to the accommodation for guests and the stunning venue. We both knew we didn’t want a traditional wedding and wanted a more informal feel. Samlesbury Hall embraced our vision and was accommodating with all of our requests.
To keep the informal feel we decided to have a selection of canapés, and BBQ meat sharing platters for our wedding breakfast with a trio of desserts. The food was amazing and our guests very much enjoyed what was served. We kept with the informal feel at night by having stone baked pizzas, which were enjoyed by all of our guests, along with a sweet cart.
The entertainment on the evening made our wedding night everyone was up and dancing throughout whilst the drink was flowing. We were both surprised by a number of our family partaking in a ‘flash-mob’ choreographed dance. We also surprised our guests with a choreographed first dance to a dirty dancing/grease mash up.
All of our guests have since said what an amazing day and night they
have had from the food, entertainment and venue, some even saying it’s the best
wedding they have ever been to.
The back drop of our chosen venue has given us amazing wedding photos and an incredible video with drone footage. Getting ready in the morning with Kiery’s bridal party in the gatehouse made the day extra special.
We can not put into words how amazing our wedding day was, the memories will live with us forever, such an incredible way to start married life. We would recommend the venue to anyone who is thinking of a location with stunning character and unique accommodation for your guests to stay - many thanks Samlesbury Hall for making it so special for us both.
