Where/how did you meet?
We met when we were 17 at The Sixth Form College, Farnborough. A friend of ours introduced us and we quickly became friends. It was definitely young love.
Where are you both from? If you aren’t a local then why choose Lancashire?
James is from Hampshire and I'm from Kent. We chose Lancashire as James had a very close family connection with his late Grandma living in Lancashire. Lancashire was also the first holiday that James and I shared together and, since then, have many a fond memory made.
What made you pick Samlesbury for your wedding venue?
I will be completely honest with you; Samlesbury Hall was our wild card. We had spent a long time thinking of places we had been together and places we would like to visit in Lancashire as we wanted a connection with the wedding venue. We had a selection of two places we had been to and three (inc. Samlesbury Hall) that we hadn't. As appointments were made, and attended, we were almost certain we had a place in mind. In fact, so certain, that I had to speak James into not cancelling our appointment with Samlesbury Hall. What a mistake that would've been! Pulling up to the entrance of the hall, our hearts begun to flutter with excitement. We sat in the car for a few minutes trying to convince ourselves not to be overcome with "first impressions". However, as soon as we walked in, we fell in love. We were in trouble. Having already had our wedding pretty much set out in our mind, Samlesbury came in and changed it all. What sealed the deal for us, completely and utterly, were the staff including Angela. Everything about Samlesbury Hall just spoke to us and connected to us perfectly. It has been the best decision we ever made.
What did you eat for your wedding breakfast?
We decided to pay extra to give our guests a choice. To start we had either Pate or Salmon. For the main we had either Lamb or Chicken and dessert was either profiteroles or lemon tart. The food was exceptional and we found it so hard to choose our favourites!
What was the very best part of your day?
I would have to say the ceremony. It's so true what everyone says, that it goes so quickly, but our registrar was so wonderful and so many people said what a beautiful and personalised ceremony it was.
Anything else you would like to add?
Even to this day, everyone has said that our wedding was genuinely the best they had been to. Everything ran so smoothly and James and I felt like we could totally relax as we were confident that Angela and her team would be there.
I really really really recommend Samlesbury Hall as a wedding venue. It's not only the place we got married, but a place we feel extremely close to. Samlesbury Hall is such a beautiful place, and the perfect venue to get married.
