Emma & Adam. 10th November

A GORGEOUS AUTUMN WEDDING AT SAMLESBURY HALL

by Samlesbury Hall

Where/how did you meet?

We met on the first day of uni back in 2011! We were sat together as 'ice breaker partners' and just hit it off straight away. We spent the whole day together, went on a date a few days later, then a couple weeks after that we were official! Adam proposed on Rome in 2016, and November 2018 we finally had our big day!

Tell us a little bit about yourselves!

Emma is a visual merchandiser, and Adam works in marketing. We both have a love for travel and will be road tripping California for our honeymoon! Emma loves fashion and has a keen eye for styling, and Adam has a love for sport...Liverpool FC in particular! Since the wedding Emma has found a love for wedding venue styling, and is hoping her hobby 'EZ Wedding Styling' can become a successful business in the future!

Where are you both from?  If you aren’t a local then why choose Lancashire?

Emma was born and raised in Preston, and Adam a little down the road in St Helen's. We both met at the university of Central Lancashire so just felt right that we stayed local. Lancashire has some gorgeous wedding venues including Samlesbury hall, and amazingly talented suppliers so it was a no brainer really.

What made you pick Samlesbury for your wedding venue?

We already had the hall on our list when we first got engaged, being local it's a place we were already aware of. We were drawn to the character of the building, the beautiful exterior, the history of it, and couldn't stop thinking about how gorgeous our wedding pictures could be! This was the first venue we viewed and Emma cried when we walked into the Great hall, that's when we knew it had to be here and we cancelled all other viewings and booked instantly!

What did you eat for your wedding breakfast?

After stuffing our faces at the tasting we decided on a starter of soup, followed by an amazing chicken dish with ham hock (which was DELICIOUS), and a salted caramel tart for dessert! All washed down with a jagerbomb to get the party started!

Did the team at Samlesbury Hall help you in making decisions?

The team were fully invested in you and the day, as I think other couples will agree with! They were at the other end of the phone if you needed them and were able to accommodate any requests we had. You didn't feel like 'just another wedding' which was lovely!

What was the very best part of your day?

The whole day was just perfect! Obviously becoming husband and wife tops everything that day, but pulling off our first dance was also a highlight! We had been secretly learning a choreographed waltz as our first dance, and our family and friends went wild when we were dancing it...and we pulled it off without falling over Emma's massive dress!!

Anything else you would like to add?

Anyone who is considering the hall as a wedding venue, just do it! We had the most perfect day and would like to thank Samlesbury Hall, as well as all the suppliers who helped make our day so special! We decided to hire only small and local businesses as suppliers and we couldn't have made a better decision. Thank you again to team weddings at Samlesbury Hall!
