A little note on sustainability

Here at Samlesbury Hall we endeavour to put sustainability at the forefront of our minds when selecting produce from our oceans.  Our fish is sourced from an MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) approved supplier and we strive to use blue label certified which is only applied to wild fish or seafood from fisheries certified to the MSC standard, a scientific measure of sustainable fishing.

In a nutshell - sustainable fishing means leaving enough fish in the ocean, respecting habitats and ensuring people who depend on fishing can maintain their livelihoods.  Please visit for further information.
