Christmas Day Lunches in the Great Hall at Samlesbury

Eat, drink and be merry!  Enjoy a glass of chilled fizz on arrival in the historic Parlour, followed by a sumptuous four course lunch in the candlelit Great Hall with loved ones, by our roaring log fire.

To begin…

Scallop and Parma ham, with smoked bacon & fig jam and crispy kale.

Fillet of Lancashire beef carpaccio with sweet & sour onions, sage crème fraîche and salad.

Bubble and squeak risotto with crispy egg.

Followed by…

Champagne Sorbet course

For your main…

Roast turkey breast with heritage carrots, cauliflower mornay, pigs in blankets, roast chestnut & sausage meat stuffing and goose fat roast potatoes.

Paupiette of sole with smoked salmon and crab mousse, roasted new potatoes, white wine and butter sauce and seasonal roast vegetable medley.

Trio of venison, medium rare strip loin, cottage pie with parmesan & chive mash, venison & quail Scotch egg with medley of seasonal roast vegetables.

Individual wild mushroom wellington with butternut squash & herb risotto and blue cheese sauce.

For pudding…

Traditional Christmas pudding, decorated with seasonal berries and brandy sauce

Individual lemon tart with sesame meringues

Baked dark cherry cheesecake with cherry textures garnish

Followed by coffee & petit fours
