Frequently Asked Questions

How many people can stay in a hut?

Each hut has room for four adults to sleep comfortably (although two will be on the top bunk). If you have more than four, we have pods and a mini hut available as an add-on. They neighbour the hut, and act as an extra bedroom. The pods have two single beds, and the mini-hut has a double.

What if I want to cancel?

To cancel please call the Hall on 01254 812010. The deposit is non-refundable, nor can a stay be cancelled within a month of the arrival date.

How much is the deposit?

The deposit is 50% of the total price.

Can we hire out the site exclusively?

You can. To do so please contact the Hall directly, as there is a special booking process for exclusive hire.

Where are you located?

In the heart of Lancashire, mid-way between Preston and Blackburn, just three minutes from junction 31 on the M6.

Is there parking?

Free parking is available on the hamlet site. If you have an extra car you can park it on the main car park of the Hall.

What’s the public transport like?

The nearest train stations are Blackburn and Preston. The number 59 Stagecoach bus travels between the two towns, and stops just outside the gates.

How do we book?

You can book online here...But sometimes it’s nice to talk to us directly, in which case you can give the Hall a call on 01254 812010 or email helena@samlesburyhall.co.uk

What about food?

The Hall serves dishes made with the finest ingredients, both in the Restaurant and Dottie’s Wafflery. Both are open for lunch. For an evening meal, head across the road to Mezzo the local Italian, or venture into the village to The Millstone at Mellor, and The Spread Eagle for some fine dining.

Are the huts all the same?

There are two types of huts available. The only difference are the beds; while most have double beds arranged as bunks, there are a few that have a single daybed below (plus a truckle bed below that one; ideal for a couple with two children, or anyone staying a few days).

What should I bring?

A torch if you want to explore the grounds, and your coolbox and bangers if you’re getting a BBQ kit. Don’t forget plates and cutlery. A range of mini toiletries are provided.

How do I get a brew?

Tea and coffee making facilities are already in the hut.

What is the accessibility like?

You can view our access statement here. Unfortunately the size of the huts do mean accessibility is limited. The possibility of a more-accessible hut is being explored however.

Can I choose which hut I stay in?

You can ask! We can’t guarantee, as we are limited by logistics, but will endeavour to get you into the hut you want.

Can I smoke?

Outside only please, provided you dispose of your butts responsibly. The huts have smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. If you are found to have smoked inside the hut a cleaning charge will be added to your bill.

Are all the huts en-suite?

Yes, all huts have a sink, WC and a hot shower. Towels are also provided.

Can I bring the dog?

Not at the moment. There will be a dog-friendly hut opening in the future, so keep an eye on this space!

What time is check-in?

Anytime between 2pm and 5pm.  A late check-in can be arranged on request.

What time is check-out?

By 11.00am.

What can we do nearby?

We’re in a prime position to explore Manchester, Blackpool, Liverpool and of course our local Preston. Closer to home we neighbour Brockholes Nature Reserve and Huntley’s Farm Shop.

Do you serve breakfast?

We do. Our restaurant serves a Full English, alongside a selection of cereals, toast, and breakfast drinks, anytime between 8am and 10am. For an earlier start we can provide a small continental breakfast hamper.

Do you still have the pods?

The pods are still available, but only as an addition to the Huts. They work best if you have a party of six, as each sleeps two.

Are the huts warm?

They have full central heating and are designed to keep the heat in during winter, and the sun out during winter. The en-suite has hot running water also.

Can I charge my phone?

Of course. We have low-wattage electricity in the huts, and the sockets come with a USB port.

Can we cook in the huts?

No – the space is too small to accommodate any cooking facilities, but we do sell BBQ kits for £5.

Can I have a campfire?

You can. We provide the fire bowl, along with logs, kindling, fire starters and matches for £5. We also have sell BBQ kits if you’re planning an outdoor feast.
